The Regional Productivity Committee (RPC) of the Regional Development Council-I (RDC-I) spearheaded the celebration of the National Quality and Productivity Improvement Month (NQPIM) during the opening ceremony held on October 5, 2009 at the Diego Silang Hall of the La Union Provincial Capitol. The event was coordinated by the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office (NEDA-I) as the secretariat of the RDC-I. The CY 2009 NQPIM Theme was “Enhancing Quality and Productivity Towards Competitiveness”.

A total of 63 out of 126 nominees made it as semi-finalists to the government’s annual, nationwide Search for Outstanding Public Officials and Employees, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) reported.

RDC 1 Launches SocMob Program on Climate Change |

The Regional Development Council 1 launched the Social Mobilization Program on Climate Change last 14 August 2009 at RELC, San Fernando City, La Union. The SocMob Program aims to bring together all possible inter-sectoral partners with the objective to raise the people’s awareness on the burning issues on climate change. It seeks to strengthen community participation by involving the households in every barangay in the advocacy, promotion, and adoption of do-able practices that can help mitigate the fast degradation of the environment. The SocMob on Climate Change has 3 themes: Solid Waste Management, Energy-Efficiency through the SWITCH Campaign, and Organic Agriculture.

Vigan City --- The Regional Development Council –I (RDC-I) is pushing for the implementation of the e-governance across state-run organizations in the region in support to the national government’s Medium Term Development Plan 2004-2010 and the e-Commerce Act of 2000.
